Cape Cod is the perfect setting for a Family Portrait
Your family hasn’t all been together in one place in how long? Celebrate your family reunion, celebrate an anniversary or a special birthday with a beautiful Cape Cod family portrait on the beach at sunset. Remember this special time year-round with beautiful portraits to display at home and schedule a photography session of your family while you’re on your vacation!
Your Cape Cod beach photo session will be FUN!
It’s about making MEMORIES – for you, for your children, for their children.
It is about FAMILY!
EVERYONE will LOVE it!

Your Family Portrait Experience will be Unique!
You may be a family of 3, or a family of 23. I have over 22 years of experience photographing all sizes, ages, and shapes of families. At your session, I make sure to get the ‘big group photo’ first. I take one at the beginning at one location on the beach (while little ones are still fresh), then another at the end of the session at a different location on the beach when the light is most beautiful, and everyone is relaxed. This is when we’d try to catch the sunset. In between, I’ll photograph all the different groups that make up your family – siblings, grandparents and grandchildren, cousins, just the girls, just the guys, individual family groupings, couples, and also some ‘candids’ of children (and adults!) playing, and families walking along the beach. Special requests are welcome!
I like to call myself “Your Personal Paparazzi” – if you have an idea, I’ll photograph it! The amount of family pictures you will see depends on the size of your family and how many groupings and candids we do. No matter what size your family is, there is no additional charge for larger groups and extended families!
The Best Place to Photograph your Cape Cod Family Pictures
We can take your family pictures at the beach close to your summer cottage or resort, or at a location that’s special to you and your family. If you’re not familiar with the area or don’t have a location in mind, I can help you choose one that will be perfect for everyone.
We take into consideration ease of travel from where you’re staying, beach accessibility from the parking lot, ages and abilities of those being photographed, and sometimes even weather can be a factor (especially the wind direction). The time of day, though is always near Sunset – the best light, no squinting, and less crowds at the beach (and easier parking).
Sometimes we’ll get a fantastic colorful sunset, and sometimes we’ll have a lovely overcast evening. Whatever the conditions, I’ll make sure your family portrait session will go smoothly, and your family portrait will be absolutely beautiful. I have over 20 years experience photographing families on Cape Cod during their summer vacation, so I will guide you every step of the way to create a beautiful family portrait on your Cape Cod vacation.

We had our second photo shoot with Cassandra this summer in Cape Cod. I Would highly recommend Cassandra, her pictures are amazing! All our friends and family can’t stop talking about how beautiful the pictures came out. Thank you so much for the memories!

What if it Rains?
The weather in New England and Cape Cod is unpredictable, and the conditions at the beach can be drastically different than the weather at your house or cottage. Weather is my other ‘obsession’ during the summer, so I’m very informed and constantly watching it.
I will be in touch with you the day before and the day of your session to discuss weather concerns. I may even rely on you to tell me if something is going on where you are that hasn’t popped up on my radar yet.
Usually only excessive wind or rainy days can be cause for rescheduling or cancellation. Cloudy days can be lovely (and sometimes turn into the best sunsets)! We’ll make the call together about 2 hours before your session, and discuss other options if necessary. Note: Never in my 22+ years of business have I had to completely cancel a session. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
I am aware that you may only be on the Cape for 1 week or less, so I only schedule 1 Family Portrait session per evening, and I do not schedule every evening of the week to make sure I leave room for weather reschedules. For your ‘peace of mind’, however, a rain date can be scheduled for an additional $250, which will be credited to your additional print or product order over $1000.
If for some reason your photo session cannot be rescheduled because of weather and/or needs to cancel because of other circumstances beyond our control, I will refund your deposit, or it can be used towards a future session.
When is the best time to reserve my Beach Photo Session on Cape Cod?
Now! It’s never too early – I only schedule one family portrait on the beach per day, and I do leave dates open every week to leave room for reschedules in case of inclement weather, so dates fill up quickly and far in advance!
I recommend calling or emailing as soon as you know when you’ll be on Cape Cod, and booking your session towards the beginning of your summer vacation so we have room to reschedule your family pictures if necessary.

What should we wear?
Good choices in clothing is one of the key elements of a great beach photo session!
Keep it classic for a timeless look – choose a 3-color palette and let everyone have their own take on it. Jeans or khaki-colored pants, shorts, capris, long flowy dresses, and skirts (not “mini”) with white or off-white, black, shades of blues, greens and browns and pastels are a good choice. Stay away from the ‘team photo’ look, and barefoot looks best at the beach!
After you book your session, I will send you a comprehensive “what to wear” guide, complete with color palettes, that you can share with everyone who will be in the photo!
100% Guarantee!
I absolutely guarantee you will be thrilled with your family portraits or I will rephotograph your family, or give you a full refund.
If you have purchased a digital package, you have the opportunity to view the photos prior to downloading them. Downloading your high-resolution images constitutes that you are 100% satisfied with the images.

Can we take photos during our session?
I respectfully request family members do not use cameras (even cell phone cameras) during the session.
I will need everyone’s full attention during the session and other cameras could be distracting, especially to the younger children and to pets. Please make sure that everyone involved in your portrait is informed of this policy.
